First. You have to update your PSP 3000/Slim (TA-088v3) to the Official Firmware 5.03. Extract the archive to the PSP/GAME folder and update your PSP.
Second. Download ChickHEN Homebrew Enabler R2 HERE and follow instructions:
1. Connect your PSP to your PC via USB.
2. Extract the archive, open the "PICTURE" folder and extract the "ChickHEN Mod" folder to the PSP/GAME/PHOTO in your PSP (If you don't have the PHOTO folder, just manually create it).
3. Copy the "h.bin" file in the archive to the root of your Memory Stick (ms0:/).
4. Disconnect from USB.
5. Now in your PSP, Go to PHOTO then down to MEMORY STICK and press X to
open the "ChickHEN Mod" folder.
6 Wait for the egg image to load in the ChickHEN Mod square.
7. DO NOTHING MORE, JUST WAIT.
8. If all goes well, the screen should blank out and flash green showing that the HEN is loaded.
9. Wait for your PSP to reboot and check your PSP's system software. It should now display: "5.03 ChickHEN".
If you've successfully done this, then you can now proceed to the next step.
Third. Download Custom Firmware 5.03GEN-A for ChickHEN HERE and follow instructions:
1. Connect your PSP to the computer in USB Mode when you have loaded ChickHEN.
2. Extract the archive on your desktop for example.
3. Double-click on LAUNCH-ME.exe (GUI)
4. PSP Model : choose options PSP-2000 or PSP-3000 (depends on your PSP)
5. Mode : Choose option FULL
6. PSP Install : Choose option YES
7. PSP Unit Drive: (The drive letter of your PSP)
7. Push START.
8. The files are copied on your PSP.
9. Disconnect the PSP from USB.
10. In your PSP, go to GAMES down to MEMORY STICK and Launch the Installer-loader.
11. When the app load, press L or R to flash the firmware in your flash. YOU ONLY NEED MAKE IT ONE TIME!
12. Press O to reboot in the custom firmware.
13. Check your PSP's system software. It should now be running in custom firmware 5.03 GEN-A (Full) that enables you to play downloaded games in your PSP.
How to play your downloaded games? Follow these instructions.
1. Connect your PSP to your PC via USB.
2. Create a folder named "ISO" in the root of your memory stick.
3. Copy your downloaded games to that folder.
4. Disconnect from USB.
5. On your PSP, press the Select button. It will display the GEN VSH Menu.
6. Go to "UMD ISO MODE" and press arrow left/right. It will scroll to some options. Choose "Sony NP9660". Then Exit.
Done. Now you can play games without using UMD's on your PSP 3000/Slim (TA-088v3)..
